BIOSKETCH
Ms Sinothile Cele holding a (B Cur) degree in Nursing from University Of KwaZulu- Natal (UKZN) further acquired a postgraduate Diploma in HIV/AIDS management at University of Stellenbosch. She has devoted eleven years in the field of nursing. She has extensive experience in community work, palliative care nursing, clinical advanced HIV/AIDS and TB management and its complications. Recently she’s working at MLCCP (CIDERU) her role and activities include rendering clinical services to the patients, community screening, health education, providing support and guidance to patients regarding their treatment. Interacting with patient navigators and the community team.

She’s experienced in execution of best practice data collection and has acquired Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training. Furthermore, she worked at Amber Valley hospice in Pietermaritzburg (Howick) rendering specialised nursing care, emotional support to patients with terminal illnesses (cancer) and physical ailments like arthritis, heart disease, COPD as well as cognitive impairments such as dementia and Alzheimer’s.

She was a Community Team Leader straight after completing her B Cur degree in Nursing which she says stood out for her and one of the best highlights in her career so far. “Having received an opportunity of providing healthcare services to vulnerable populations, managing chronic conditions, helping them to stay healthy and independent within their communities was rewarding”. She says Working in a community level together with different stakeholders to positively impact community members was remarkable. Practical example was helping those who were homeless receive housing through linkage of care to the relevant department. Ms Cele intents on establishing her own hospice to give back to her community by executing skills she developed over the years in Nursing science.
