Ms Motlana is a PhD candidate focusing on the barriers and facilitators to implementing a multidisciplinary approach for improving palliative care in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She is currently the Palliative care project officer for the Multinational Lung Cancer Control Program (MLCCP) phase two. She has been with the project from the time it was launched in 2018. Her research interests are cancer epidemiology and the provision of palliative care in Africa. With her PhD and work experience, she hopes to propose a tailored palliative care model to improve service delivery in the current KwaZulu-Natal healthcare system.
