Nonkululeko Sibiya currently serves as a Cancer Information Officer in the CIDERU-MLCCP Department, where she is responsible for cancer surveillance and data abstraction. In this role, she plays a vital part in supporting evidence-based decision-making by ensuring the accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of cancer-related data. Her work contributes significantly to strengthening cancer prevention, control strategies, and overall public health planning within the region.
She holds a Nursing Certificate, a Cancer Registrar qualification, and an HIV and AIDS Certificate, which qualify her as an Auxiliary Nurse with a strong foundation in both clinical care and public health practice. Her professional experience spans multiple healthcare areas, including HIV care and support services, fracture management (E3), and frontline involvement during the COVID-19 response.
In addition to her clinical and surveillance roles, Nonkululeko has contributed to key research initiatives, including the Barriers to Hypertension and HIV Studies. Through this work, she has gained valuable insight into community-level health challenges, health systems strengthening, and intervention strategies aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Driven by a passion for healthcare and data-informed solutions, Nonkululeko bridges frontline clinical care with public health research. Her work enhances the health system’s capacity to address non-communicable diseases such as cancer, while continuing to respond effectively to infectious diseases.
