Ms Mkhize is a young professional who holds an Honours degree in Economics. She completed an internship programme with the Department of Public Enterprises where she was part of the Economic Research and Modelling Unit. During her tenure, she was exposed to compliance and governance protocols of State-Owned Companies (SOCs) and did research in response to parliamentary questions arising from engagements between members of parliament. She successfully organized site visits to SOCs for economic impact assessment of their Corporate Social Investment and their contribution to economic growth. She currently serves as a Cancer Information Officer at the Multinational Lung Cancer Control Program (MLCCP) doing cancer surveillance work, which is crucial in informing the research conducted by the project. She aspires to further her studies, researching the impact of SOCs on economic growth in South Africa.
