Cancer Information Officer

Sisanda Ntshele is currently serving as Cancer Information Officer in the CIDERU-MLCCP Oncology Department. She’s responsible for cancer case identification, data collection and abstraction, coding, quality control, and supporting cancer surveillance and research initiatives. Her role requires a strong commitment to data accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration within the healthcare sector.

Currently advancing her expertise through specialized training with the IARC-GICR program, working toward certification as a Cancer Registrar. Sisanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management, equipping her with a solid foundation in environmental systems, sustainability, and the link between environmental factors and human health, alongside strong research and analytical skills. Her additional certifications include Data Quality, Data Use for Program Managers, and Environmental Management training focused on mitigation and monitoring.

Previous work experience, Office Administrator supported with file registration, check participant co-enrolment on BCEPs, data capturing, file preparing, updated versions of documents that have changes, fax CRF’s to data system, support meeting setups, perform administrative duties. Schedule appointments and reimbursement procedures. Fieldworker, conducted door-to-door and institutional surveys, reviewed and validated collected data for accuracy and consistency, maintained confidentiality.

Sisanda is passionate about improving cancer data systems and contributing to better healthcare outcomes through high-quality data management.
